There are new reports out that Senator McCain’s choice for VP, Gov. Sarah Palin, may be more of a maverick than McCain bargained for
“Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin “going rogue.”
A Palin associate, however, said the candidate is simply trying to “bust free” of what she believes was a damaging and mismanaged roll-out.”
Regardless of the reasons behind Palin going off message , it is still a diversion for the McCain camp At a time when polls are indicating the election may be rather one sided in Senator Obama’s favor.
CNN reported that one Palin aide said she saw herself as the next leader of the republican party, which is one possible explanation for her trying to carve her own path for herself.
But it seems pretty obvious that the internal discord her actions are causing are doing more to drag the ticket down than anything else.
If McCain doesn’t end up winning the presidency, it seems more likely that she would become the scapegoat for the republican party as the person who lost the 2008 election
